Caltech students and postdocs can access our scheduler by signing in to Access.Caltech. Locate the "Writing Center Scheduling" link under Academic Services. Log in with your Caltech NETID and book your appointment.

We have recently updated our website, and it's now easier than ever to find resources relevant to the many kinds of writing Caltech students do. Just visit our Resources page for information about many different aspects of academic writing across disciplines. We have added some new materials on popular STEM genres of writing, like posters, and we plan to add more in the months ahead.
STEM Writing Specialist Joins Hixon Writing Center Team
The HWC welcomes Dr. Christina Birch as a STEM Writing Specialist to support student writing and communication in scientific and technical fields.

Caltech Roundtable: Writing Popular Books about Science
On April, 7, 2015, three Caltech professors, Sean Carroll, Mike Brown, and Hiroshi Ooguri, spoke about the challenges and rewards of writing successful science books for non-experts.
